Clerk-Treasurer: Maria D’Ambrose
The Clerk-Treasurer is the fiscal officer of the Town, responsibilities include; maintaining financial records, keeping minutes and all other records. The Clerk-Treasurer position is an elected office with a four year term. Specific duties are defined by the Indiana Code, Municipal Code of Ordinances, directives of the municipal governing body, within the law, and, to some extent the individual skills and capabilities of the office-holder. The ranking status of Clerk-Treasurer is on an equal level with the Council. The only area in which the Clerk-Treasurer does not have complete authority is setting wages and final approval of budgets. The Clerk-Treasurer may be called upon to break tie votes at Town Council meetings. More information can be found in Indiana Code 36-5-6.
